York Chocolate Cat

The York Chocolate Cat is a new American breed of show cat, with a long, fluffy coat and a tapered tail and most of them are chocolate. The first part of its name is taken from New York state, where it was bred in 1983. This breed was created by color-selecting domestic longhaired cats, and as the name suggests, all members of this breed are solid chocolate or lilac, chocolate and white, or lilac and white (see bicolor cat). The breed is not yet widely recognized by breeders and the Cat Fanciers' Association.

Famous quotes containing the words york, chocolate and/or cat:

You feel you could pucker up and blow away the miles between 49 Bard Road [Brixton] and that apartment in New York where I could be tomorrow morning, if the apartment still existed, if Peregrine still existed, if the past weren’t deeper than the sea, more difficult to cross.
    Angela Carter (1940–1992)

The man who invented Eskimo Pie made a million dollars, so one is told, but E.E. Cummings, whose verse has been appearing off and on for three years now, and whose experiments should not be more appalling to those interested in poetry than the experiment of surrounding ice-cream with a layer of chocolate was to those interested in soda fountains, has hardly made a dent in the doughy minds of our so-called poetry lovers.
    John Dos Passos (1896–1970)

But the cat is grown small and thin with desire,
Transformed to a creeping lust for milk.
    Harold Monro (1879–1932)
