- In 2001, Kang Chol-hwan wrote the book The Aquariums of Pyongyang describing his childhood in Yodok camp.
- In 2006, Jung Sung-san, another former prisoner of Yodok camp, directed the musical Yoduk Story about Yodok camp.
- In 2008, Andrzej Fidyk made the film Yodok Stories about life in Yodok camp based on the musical and on witness accounts. North Korean refugees act in the film.
