Video On Demand
The university has conversed satellite–based lectures into a streaming video format on the web. YCMOU has launched this facility under its MPSC-UPSC Competitive Examination Guidance Programme. Initially 30 lectures under this programme – each having a duration of two hours – were made available on the internnet for the students. Registered students could view these lectures from any place where a broadband connection was available. The Study Centers also arranged for group viewing of these lectures. Although this was a pilot run, lectures, video programmes and audio programmes may be made available on the internet in the same manner.

Famous quotes containing the words video and/or demand:
“It is among the ranks of school-age children, those six- to twelve-year-olds who once avidly filled their free moments with childhood play, that the greatest change is evident. In the place of traditional, sometimes ancient childhood games that were still popular a generation ago, in the place of fantasy and make- believe play . . . today’s children have substituted television viewing and, most recently, video games.”
—Marie Winn (20th century)
“The laws of custom make our [returning a visit] necessary. O how I hate this vile custom which obliges us to make slaves of ourselves! to sell the most precious property we boast, our time;—and to sacrifice it to every prattling impertinent who chooses to demand it!”
—Frances Burney (1752–1840)
