The Yarmouthport Train Station (also known as Yarmouth) was located on the Willow Street in Yarmouthport, Massachusetts at the junction of the branch to Hyannis. It was originally part of the Cape Cod Railroad, and later part of the Old Colony Railroad after 1872. In 1893, it became part of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad system.
The station was torn down after rail service to Cape Cod ended.
Famous quotes containing the words train and/or station:
“The train was now going fast. Franz suddenly clutched his side, transfixed by the thought that he had lost his wallet which contained so much.”
—Vladimir Nabokov (18991977)
“Say first, of God above, or Man below,
What can we reason, but from what we know?
Of Man what see we, but his station here,
From which to reason, or to which refer?
Thro worlds unnumberd tho the God be known,
Tis ours to trace him only in our own.
”
—Alexander Pope (16881744)
