Description
In appearance it resembled a rifle with a longer-than-normal barrel supported by a bipod at the front of the wooden stock. It was a bolt-action rifle, fed from a 4-round box magazine. The barrel was equipped with a muzzle brake for greater accuracy and to limit the recoil. The brake absorbed approximately 65% of the shot energy and the recoil was comparable to the standard Mauser rifle, even though the cartridge carried more than twice the amount of propellant. It had fitted iron sights fixed for a 300-meter range.
Calculated kinetic energy, by shot, before brake was probably about 8046.8438(or 11849.9934 with 14.579 g bullet), basing on the 9.9 g Mauser spitzer bullet(some sources give 14.579 g), relatively long barrel, and nitro powder giving 1275 m/s, however because of the bullet construction(8x107mm DS) it may be much bigger(or compared to higher) because there was other than usual coating and bullets were not bouncing steel-steel from the armor but rather "glue" and making holes.

Famous quotes containing the word description:
“Everything to which we concede existence is a posit from the standpoint of a description of the theory-building process, and simultaneously real from the standpoint of the theory that is being built. Nor let us look down on the standpoint of the theory as make-believe; for we can never do better than occupy the standpoint of some theory or other, the best we can muster at the time.”
—Willard Van Orman Quine (b. 1908)
“To give an accurate description of what has never occurred is not merely the proper occupation of the historian, but the inalienable privilege of any man of parts and culture.”
—Oscar Wilde (18541900)
“It is possibleindeed possible even according to the old conception of logicto give in advance a description of all true logical propositions. Hence there can never be surprises in logic.”
—Ludwig Wittgenstein (18891951)
