Famous quotes containing the words wrestling and/or ring:

“There are people who think that wrestling is an ignoble sport. Wrestling is not sport, it is a spectacle, and it is no more ignoble to attend a wrestled performance of suffering than a performance of the sorrows of Arnolphe or Andromaque.”
    —Roland Barthes (1915–1980)

“It is engend’red in the eyes,
With gazing fed; and fancy dies
In the cradle where it lies.
Let us all ring fancy’s knell.
    I’ll begin it—Ding, dong, bell.”
    —William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
