Woodgrove brought home its first state championship in its second year, with the girls' soccer team completing an undefeated season (24-0-1) by defeating district foe Loudoun County High School in the AA State Championship game 3-0 on June 9, 2012. Later that day, Woodgrove's softball team (27-2) won the school's second state title, defeating Broadway High School in the AA State Championship game 9-0.
