Arriva Trains Wales and London Midland operate passenger trains on this line. Westbound, some trains go beyond Shrewsbury to Chester, Holyhead, Aberystwyth and Wrexham while eastbound, services continue beyond Wolverhampton to terminate at Birmingham New Street or Birmingham International.
