Famous quotes containing the words similar and/or vessels:

“A work of art is an abstract or epitome of the world. It is the result or expression of nature, in miniature. For, although the works of nature are innumerable and all different, the result or the expression of them all is similar and single.”
    —Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

“Just as bones, tissues, intestines, and blood vessels are enclosed in a skin that makes it possible to bear the sight of a human being, so the agitations and passions of the soul are wrapped up in vanity: it is the soul’s skin.”
    —Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)
