White Room

"White Room" is a psychedelic rock song by British supergroup Cream, written by bassist Jack Bruce and poet Pete Brown. It originally appeared on the US release of their double album, Wheels of Fire, by Atco Records in July 1968 and was released as a single in September 1968 (see 1968 in music), on the same label.

The single reached the top 30 in 7 countries, including Australia, where it topped the Go-Set National Top 40 singles chart. The song was edited for the single release on AM Radio stations, although album-oriented FM Radio stations would play the full album version.

Famous quotes containing the words white and/or room:

Black women ... work because their husbands can’t make enough money at their jobs to keep everything going.... They don’t go to work to find fulfillment, or adventure, or glamour and romance, like so many white women think they are doing. Black women work out of necessity.
    Wilma Rudolph (1940–1994)

... the only way in which Mr. Brooke could be coerced into thinking of the right arguments at the right time was to be well plied with them till they took up all the room in his brain. But here there was the difficulty of finding room, so many things having been taken in beforehand. Mr. Brooke himself observed that his ideas stood rather in his way when he was speaking.
