Westin Harbour Castle Hotel - Changing Banners

Changing Banners

As part of a property swap in 1987, Hilton Hotels exchanged the property for the former Toronto Westin Hotel on University Avenue and became a part of the Westin Hotels chain.

The twin-towered 34-storey building sits along Toronto Harbour and now offers 977 rooms after a renovation in 2007. The top of the hotel features two restaurants, Mizzen and Toula. Both have a panoramic view of the city. The rooftop restaurant located on the southeast tower once revolved, but it has since ceased in 2001. The restaurant offers a view of the lake and can see Rochester, New York on a good day.

A convention centre building is attached to the hotel on the northside and accessible from an elevated glass walkway. The convention centre offers 31 rooms, including the 2,300 square feet (210 m2) Grand Metro Ballroom. It is also connected to Harbour Square condos with a glass walkway.

Famous quotes containing the words changing and/or banners:

    Is there anything
To be serious about beyond this otherness
That gets included in the most ordinary
Forms of daily activity, changing everything
    Slightly and profoundly....
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)

The President has apples on the table
And barefoot servants round him, who adjust
The curtains to a metaphysical t
And the banners of the nation flutter, burst
On the flag-poles in a red-blue dazzle, whack
    At the halyards.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)
