Western Freeway (Mumbai) - Bandra - Worli Sea Link

Worli Sea Link

The Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL) was opened to traffic on June 30, 2009. The Sea Link reduces travel time between Bandra and Worli from 45–60 minutes to 7 minutes. The link has an average daily traffic of around 37,500 vehicles per day. The toll charged is 55 (US$1) for one-way and 82.50 (US$1.5) for a return journey.

There are plans to add an 800m bridge to turn the Worli connector from a 4-lane to 8-lane freeway.

Famous quotes containing the words sea and/or link:

Wild roses, at your back porch, break their blood,
And bud to test surprises of sea air,
    Howard Moss (b. 1922)

This sand seemed to us the connecting link between land and water. It was a kind of water on which you could walk, and you could see the ripple-marks on its surface, produced by the winds, precisely like those at the bottom of a brook or lake. We had read that Mussulmans are permitted by the Koran to perform their ablutions in sand when they cannot get water, a necessary indulgence in Arabia, and we now understand the propriety of this provision.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
