Westall Railway Station - Access To The Station Compromised

Access To The Station Compromised

The new development has diminished easy access to the station by bicycle by failing to meet the Department of Transport's guidelines in regard to cycle access. Before the development cyclists and pedestrians could cross the rail line using at grade crossings. They are to be removed. The only way to cross the rail line in the immediate area will be by the use of lifts. The station has good potential to be connected into the Public Bicycle Network but this has not been implemented, even though "It's part of the Plan".

Famous quotes containing the words access to the, access to, access, station and/or compromised:

The professional celebrity, male and female, is the crowning result of the star system of a society that makes a fetish of competition. In America, this system is carried to the point where a man who can knock a small white ball into a series of holes in the ground with more efficiency than anyone else thereby gains social access to the President of the United States.
    C. Wright Mills (1916–1962)

A girl must allow others to share the responsibility for care, thus enabling others to care for her. She must learn how to care in ways appropriate to her age, her desires, and her needs; she then acts with authenticity. She must be allowed the freedom not to care; she then has access to a wide range of feelings and is able to care more fully.
    Jeanne Elium (20th century)

The Hacker Ethic: Access to computers—and anything which might teach you something about the way the world works—should be unlimited and total.
Always yield to the Hands-On Imperative!
    All information should be free.
    Mistrust authority—promote decentralization.
Hackers should be judged by their hacking, not bogus criteria such as degrees, age, race, or position.
You can create art and beauty on a computer.
Computers can change your life for the better.
Steven Levy, U.S. writer. Hackers, ch. 2, “The Hacker Ethic,” pp. 27-33, Anchor Press, Doubleday (1984)

With boys you always know where you stand. Right in the path of a hurricane. It’s all there. The fruit flies hovering over their waste can, the hamster trying to escape to cleaner air, the bedrooms decorated in Early Bus Station Restroom.
    Erma Bombeck (20th century)

He had kind eyes and hands
and was a friend of sorrow.
    Thus they were married.
After all he had compromised her.
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)
