Radio Markets
West Virginia Radio Corporation owns stations in four separate areas in the state of West Virginia:
- Charleston
- Morgantown-Clarksburg-Fairmont
- Elkins-Buckhannon-Weston
- Cumberland-Keyser
At present, the three largest markets in the state what West Virginia Radio does not presently operate are Huntington, Wheeling, and Beckley. There have been recent suggestions within the West Virginia broadcasting community that West Virginia Radio may enter the Beckley market by purchasing some or all of the Southern Communications stations. West Virginia Radio was also suggested as a likely purchaser of Clear Channel Communications' Wheeling and Huntington clusters.

Famous quotes containing the words radio and/or markets:
“Now they can do the radio in so many languages that nobody any longer dreams of a single language, and there should not any longer be dreams of conquest because the globe is all one, anybody can hear everything and everybody can hear the same thing, so what is the use of conquering.”
—Gertrude Stein (18741946)
“A free-enterprise economy depends only on markets, and according to the most advanced mathematical macroeconomic theory, markets depend only on moods: specifically, the mood of the men in the pinstripes, also known as the Boys on the Street. When the Boys are in a good mood, the market thrives; when they get scared or sullen, it is time for each one of us to look into the retail apple business.”
—Barbara Ehrenreich (b. 1941)
