West London Line

The West London Line is a short railway in inner West London which links lines at Clapham Junction in the south to lines near Willesden Junction in the north. It has always been an important cross-London link especially for freight services. Regular passenger services on it, detailed below, are provided by Southern and by London Overground on whose network it is the shortest line.

Famous quotes containing the words west, london and/or line:

The American West is just arriving at the threshold of its greatness and growth. Where the West of yesterday is glamorized in our fiction, the future of the American West now is both fabulous and factual.
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)

Our haughty life is crowned with darkness,
Like London with its own black wreath,
    William Wordsworth (1770–1850)

We are apt to say that a foreign policy is successful only when the country, or at any rate the governing class, is united behind it. In reality, every line of policy is repudiated by a section, often by an influential section, of the country concerned. A foreign minister who waited until everyone agreed with him would have no foreign policy at all.
