Waterloo & City Line - at Peak Hours

At Peak Hours

At Bank, when a driver has stopped the train and disembarked the passengers, he has to let another driver from a previous train take over. This is known as stepping back, and happens because drivers do not have enough time to change ends. Famous quotes containing the words peak and/or hours:

In all things I would have the island of a man inviolate. Let us sit apart as the gods, talking from peak to peak all round Olympus. No degree of affection need invade this religion.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

I know of nothing more despicable and pathetic than a man who devotes all the hours of the waking day to the making of money for money’s sake.
    John D. Rockefeller (1839–1937)
