The school's athletic program consists of the following sports: tennis, cross-country, football, basketball, soccer, swimming, golf, track & field, wrestling, baseball, softball, and most recently, lacrosse, introduced in Spring of 2010.
The lacrosse program was started by a group of Williams' parents and the first lacrosse coach was Stephen Bailey, who is also the head coach of the Elon University men's lacrosse team. The current Varsity lacrosse coach is Hugh Fiery.
The 1952 baseball team won the North Carolina AAA championship.
For many years, the athletic facilities were utilized by sports teams from Elon University.
