Club Rugby
There are approximately 30 clubs affiliated with the Waikato Rugby Union. The following clubs were represented in the Waikato premier division for 2012:

- Te Awamutu Sports
- Melville
- Hautapu
- Morrinsville Sports
- Hamilton Marist
- Hinuera
- University
The current champion is Otorohanga, having defeated Fraser Tech in the club final at Waikato stadium in August 2012.
