The Waikato Rugby Union (WRU) is the official governing body of rugby union in the Waikato area in the North Island of New Zealand. Its senior representative team competes in the ITM Cup (formerly known as the Air New Zealand Cup), and won the inaugural Air New Zealand Cup in 2006.
Waikato Rugby Union was founded in 1921. The senior representative team plays its home fixtures at the Waikato Stadium in Hamilton. The union's colours are red, yellow and black.
