Voormi

Voormi is an American outdoor apparel company based out of Pagosa Springs, CO. The company was founded in August 2010 and specializes in using cutting edge technology to enhance the performance of natural fibers in technical outdoor clothing. Voormi apparel products are associated with outdoor sports such as climbing, skiing, mountaineering, backpacking and hiking. All Voormi products are made and assembled in the United States. Voormi apparel will be available fall of 2012. The name “Voormi” refers to a tenacious race of human like creatures that lived in the mythical land Hyperborea. Hyperborea translates to “beyond the north wind” and was an unmapped land in the far northern regions that ancient Greeks and Romans told legends about. Hyperborea was beyond the reach of Boreas, the Greek god of the vicious north wind. Boreas means “North Wind” and “Devouring One” and he is depicted as being strong, cold and violent. The Voormis, who were always ready for a challenge, discovered the means of traveling through the harsh northern climates and survived the violent, unpredictable elements. When they finally reached Hyperborea they chose to reside in the jagged glass walled Hyperborean mountains where they lived long lives at high altitudes, having learned how to exist in the severe climate.
