Famous quotes containing the words beach, high and/or school:
“They will tell you tough stories of sharks all over the Cape, which I do not presume to doubt utterly, how they will sometimes upset a boat, or tear it in pieces, to get at the man in it. I can easily believe in the undertow, but I have no doubt that one shark in a dozen years is enough to keep up the reputation of a beach a hundred miles long.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“When I was in high school I thought a vocation was a particular calling. Heres a voice: Come, follow me. My idea of a calling now is not: Come. Its like what Im doing right now, not what Im going to be. Life is a calling.”
—Rebecca Sweeney (b. 1938)
“Cinema, radio, television, magazines are a school of inattention: people look without seeing, listen in without hearing.”
—Robert Bresson (b. 1907)
