The Venturer class minesweepers were naval trawlers converted from fishing trawlers to minesweeper service for the Royal Navy in 1978.
There were 2 members of the class:
- HMS Venturer - originally Suffolk Harvester
- HMS Saint David - originally Suffolk Monarch
They reverted to their former names and owner in November 1983 and were converted into oil rig safety/standby vessels.
Famous quotes containing the word class:
“We believe that Carlyle has, after all, more readers, and is better known to-day for this very originality of style, and that posterity will have reason to thank him for emancipating the language, in some measure, from the fetters which a merely conservative, aimless, and pedantic literary class had imposed upon it, and setting an example of greater freedom and naturalness.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
