MVR Process
In this case the energy input to the system lies in the pumping energy of the compressor. The theoretical energy consumption will be equal to, where
- E is the total theoretical pumping energy
- Q is the mass of vapors passing through the compressor
- H1, H2 are the total heat content of unit mass of vapors, respectively upstream and downstream the compressor.
In SI units, these are respectively measured in kJ, kg and kJ/kg. This theoretical value shall be increased by the efficiency, usually in the order of 30 to 60%. In a large unit, the compression energy is between 35 and 45 kW per metric ton of compressed vapors.

Famous quotes containing the word process:
“Because her instinct has told her, or because she has been reliably informed, the faded virgin knows that the supreme joys are not for her; she knows by a process of the intellect; but she can feel her deprivation no more than the young mother can feel the hardship of the virgins lot.”
—Arnold Bennett (18671931)
