Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services - Fire Boats

Fire Boats

VFRS has 2 aluminum fire boats, Fireboat two and five. They were designed by naval engineering firm Robert Allan Ltd. They are two of 3 shared boats by municipalities within the Port of Vancouver area. Port Moody and Burnaby share the other boat. North Vancouver City and District Fire Departments used to each have a boat until 2011 when they cut the service.

Former fireboats:

  • J.H. Carlisle 1928-1971

Famous quotes containing the words fire and/or boats:

While there we heard the Indian fire his gun twice.... This sudden, loud, crashing noise in the still aisles of the forest, affected me like an insult to nature, or ill manners at any rate, as if you were to fire a gun in a hall or temple.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

    Away down the river,
    A hundred miles or more,
    Other little children
    Shall bring my boats ashore.
    Robert Louis Stevenson (1850–1894)
