Siddhartha Hegde (now known V. G. Siddhartha) obtained a Masters in Economics degree from Mangalore University, Karnataka. He married the daughter of S. M. Krishna, former Chief Minister of Karnataka, Indian Minister for External Affairs and Governor of Maharashtra.
