Streetcar (Sugar House Streetcar)
The Sugar House Streetcar is a transit line under construction that will connect Sugar House (a neighborhood of Salt Lake City) with the neighboring city of South Salt Lake, as well as the UTA TRAX system. It is a joint project between UTA, Salt Lake City, and South Salt Lake. The streetcar will run along the old Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad (D&RGW) line (which lies between 2100 South and the I-80 freeway) from the Central Pointe TRAX Station in South Salt Lake east to McClelland Street (1050 East) in Salt Lake City. The Sugar House Streetcar line differs slightly from the TRAX lines in that it will use different, lighter-weight cars, will travel a slightly slower speeds, and can normally be boarded without the use of a loading platforms.
In addition to the Sugar House Streetcar, several other areas in and around Salt Lake City are being evaluated for similar streetcar lines, but no specific projects have been announced so far.

Famous quotes containing the word house:
“You see how this House of Commons has begun to verify all the ill prophecies that were made of itlow, vulgar, meddling with everything, assuming universal competency, and flattering every base passionand sneering at everything noble refined and truly national. The direct tyranny will come on by and by, after it shall have gratified the multitude with the spoil and ruin of the old institutions of the land.”
