New Life
The National Civil War Naval Museum constructed a full-scale reproduction of the USS Water Witch using her original plan drawings at their facilities in Columbus, Georgia. The museum is also home to the Water Witch's original bell, one of her flags, and an original Bible taken from the ship. The museum's Water Witch recreation and exhibit opened to the public on 4 April 2009.

Famous quotes containing the word life:
“Still we live meanly, like ants; though the fable tells us that we were long ago changed into men; like pygmies we fight with cranes; it is error upon error, and clout upon clout, and our best virtue has for its occasion a superfluous and evitable wretchedness. Our life is frittered away by detail.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Then farewell, world; thy uttermost I see;
Eternal Love, maintain thy life in me.”
—Sir Philip Sidney (15541586)
