Urban Saints - Today

Today

Today Urban Saints has around 800 youth and children's groups meeting around the UK on a regular basis. Thousands of volunteers work together to organise events, holidays, mission trips and training courses in the UK and overseas.

As well as their website, Urban Saints has accounts on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter to keep followers updated. A new online programme, MIMIC, has recently been introduced to target an audience which is increasingly technology-focused. One of the ways in which Urban Saints has promoted this programme is through the distribution of a foldable z-card guide that provides background and contact information.

Famous quotes containing the word today:

Not too many years ago, a child’s experience was limited by how far he or she could ride a bicycle or by the physical boundaries that parents set. Today ... the real boundaries of a child’s life are set more by the number of available cable channels and videotapes, by the simulated reality of videogames, by the number of megabytes of memory in the home computer. Now kids can go anywhere, as long as they stay inside the electronic bubble.
    Richard Louv (20th century)

I rather think the cinema will die. Look at the energy being exerted to revive it—yesterday it was color, today three dimensions. I don’t give it forty years more. Witness the decline of conversation. Only the Irish have remained incomparable conversationalists, maybe because technical progress has passed them by.
    Orson Welles (1915–1984)

Would that even today you knew the things that make for peace!
    Bible: New Testament, Luke 19:41.
