University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is in partnership with University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine and University of Iowa Children's Hospital which completes the state University of Iowa Health Care.
University of Iowa Regents have approved a plan to build a new children's hospital. This new building will exist as its own separate entity, without physical affiliation with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The building will cost $270 million and increase the space to 370,000 square feet. In addition, bed space will increase from 164 to 195. Completion is estimated for 2016.
