There are twelve academic faculties and institutes that have been established in the university:

- Faculty of Business, Economics and Policy Studies
- Faculty of Science
- Institute for Leadership, Advancement and Innovation
- Institute of Asian Studies
- Institute of Policy Studies

- Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences
- Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education
- Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Centre for Islamic Studies
