Thread Form
The thread form is defined by flats at the tip and root of the thread form. This flat length is defined as the pitch divided by eight. The thread depth, which is from flat to flat is 0.6495 times the pitch. For 1⁄4 inch screws and larger, the pitch is defined as:

Famous quotes containing the words thread and/or form:
“I often wish for the end of the wretched remnant of my life; and that wish is a rational one; but then the innate principle of self-preservation, wisely implanted in our natures, for obvious purposes, opposes that wish, and makes us endeavour to spin out our thread as long as we can, however decayed and rotten it may be.”
—Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (16941773)
“History can predict nothing except that great changes in human relationships will never come about in the form in which they have been anticipated.”
—Johan Huizinga (18721945)
