United States Endurance Racing Association

The United States Endurance Racing Association (USERA) is a road racing sanctioning body that conducts endurance and sprint race events in the United States and Canada. The USERA Endurance Championship was established in 2006 as a low cost, professional endurance championship for drivers looking to move beyond regional and club racing programs.

The USERA Endurance Championship was initially run with spec Mazda Miata sports cars and there were 6 race events held in 2006. At the end of 2006, the series was expanded to include the Spec Racer Challenge as a series for SCCA Enterprises Spec Racer Fords. There were two events held in 2007. No events were sanctioned in 2008. In 2009 USERA sanctioned a double race weekend for the Spec Racer Challenge at Lime Rock Park. USERA also added Formula USERA as a supporting race at Lime Rock in 2009.

In 2010 USERA attempted to create the American Touring Car Championship (ATCC). ATCC was designed for near stock touring cars using standing starts common to European-style touring car racing. The series failed to gain support so no ATTC events were hosted. USERA also promoted and operating the 25th Anniversary Spec Racer Ford Celebration event at Road Atlanta, which celebrated the 25th anniversary for the Spec Racer Ford.

Famous quotes containing the words united states, united, states, endurance, racing and/or association:

... it is probable that in a fit of generosity the men of the United States would have enfranchised its women en masse; and the government now staggering under the ballots of ignorant, irresponsible men, must have gone down under the additional burden of the votes which would have been thrown upon it, by millions of ignorant, irresponsible women.
    Jane Grey Swisshelm (1815–1884)

An alliance is like a chain. It is not made stronger by adding weak links to it. A great power like the United States gains no advantage and it loses prestige by offering, indeed peddling, its alliances to all and sundry. An alliance should be hard diplomatic currency, valuable and hard to get, and not inflationary paper from the mimeograph machine in the State Department.
    Walter Lippmann (1889–1974)

I cannot say what poetry is; I know that our sufferings and our concentrated joy, our states of plunging far and dark and turning to come back to the world—so that the moment of intense turning seems still and universal—all are here, in a music like the music of our time, like the hero and like the anonymous forgotten; and there is an exchange here in which our lives are met, and created.
    Muriel Rukeyser (1913–1980)

The men who think of superannuation at sixty-one are those whose lives have been idle, not they who have really buckled themselves to work. It is my opinion that nothing seasons the mind for endurance like hard work. Port wine should perhaps be added.
    Anthony Trollope (1815–1882)

Upscale people are fixated with food simply because they are now able to eat so much of it without getting fat, and the reason they don’t get fat is that they maintain a profligate level of calorie expenditure. The very same people whose evenings begin with melted goat’s cheese ... get up at dawn to run, break for a mid-morning aerobics class, and watch the evening news while racing on a stationary bicycle.
    Barbara Ehrenreich (b. 1941)

In this great association we know no North, no South, no East, no West. This has been our pride for all these years. We have no political party. We never have inquired what anybody’s religion is. All we ever have asked is simply, “Do you believe in perfect equality for women?” This is the one article in our creed.
    Susan B. Anthony (1820–1906)
