Famous quotes containing the words present, day and/or usage:
“We see past time in a telescope and present time in a microscope. Hence the apparent enormities of the present.”
—Victor Hugo (18021885)
“Play the man, Master Ridley; we shall this day light such a candle, by Gods grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out.”
—Hugh Latimer (14851555)
“Girls who put out are tramps. Girls who dont are ladies. This is, however, a rather archaic usage of the word. Should one of you boys happen upon a girl who doesnt put out, do not jump to the conclusion that you have found a lady. What you have probably found is a lesbian.”
—Fran Lebowitz (b. 1951)
