Underground Development

Underground Development (formerly known as Z-Axis) was a video game developer founded in 1994 and acquired by Activision in May 2002. In 2005, Z-Axis relocated to Foster City, California. In early 2008, the studio was renamed to Underground Development in response to changes in both direction and personnel.

On April 19, 2008, parent company Activision announced that the studio would close after completing development on the PlayStation 3 version of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. However, the studio remained open and moved to a new office in the Redwood Shores area of Redwood City, California in February 2009.

Activision closed the studio on February 11, 2010.

Famous quotes containing the words underground and/or development:

... in a history of spiritual rupture, a social compact built on fantasy and collective secrets, poetry becomes more necessary than ever: it keeps the underground aquifers flowing; it is the liquid voice that can wear through stone.
    Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)

They [women] can use their abilities to support each other, even as they develop more effective and appropriate ways of dealing with power.... Women do not need to diminish other women ... [they] need the power to advance their own development, but they do not “need” the power to limit the development of others.
    Jean Baker Miller (20th century)
