Under The God
"Under the God" was the first single released by Tin Machine, taken from their eponymous debut album in June 1989.
The track, a straightforward rock song, established Tin Machine’s manifesto for back-to-basics rock and roll.
The single was, unusually, released after the album had been issued, and despite a video directed by Julien Temple (which masqueraded as a performance, with the audience storming the stage), only reached #51 in the UK. However, the song was moderately successful in America, charting at #4 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart and #8 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, despite failing to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. It was performed live on both of Tin Machine’s tours.

Famous quotes containing the word god:
“dost thou smile? O, thy sweet face!
Would God Himself He might thee see!
No doubt thou wouldst soon purchase grace,
I know right well, for thee and me:”
