Ufa's association football club FC Ufa plays in the Football Championship of the National League. Ufa is the biggest city in Europe never to have been represented in top-flight football. The city ice hockey club Salavat Yulaev Ufa plays in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), being the KHL Champion (2010/2011) and two-time Russia Champion (2007/2008, 2010/2011). The Ural Volleyball club are also based in Ufa.
