Triton Radio Networks
Triton Radio Networks is a subsidiary of Triton Media, based in New York. It purchased the assets of many radio networks, including Dial Global, Waitt Radio Networks and Jones Radio Networks in 2008, and then acquired the majority of Westwood One in 2011 (which itself contained the remnants of past radio networks, as well as the distribution rights to other existing networks). This has raised concerns about the network's concentration of media ownership, to the point where Talk Radio Network, a rival network, filed legal action against the company, citing antitrust violations.

Famous quotes containing the words triton, radio and/or networks:
“Id rather be
A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn;
So might I, standing on this pleasant lea,
Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn;
Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea;
Or hear old Triton blow his wreathed horn.”
—William Wordsworth (17701850)
“There was a girl who was running the traffic desk, and there was a woman who was on the overnight for radio as a producer, and my desk assistant was a woman. So when the world came to an end, we took over.”
—Marya McLaughlin, U.S. television newswoman. As quoted in Women in Television News, ch. 3, by Judith S. Gelfman (1976)
“The great networks are there to prove that ideas can be canned like spaghetti. If everything ends up by tasting like everything else, is that not the evidence that it has been properly cooked?”
—Frederic Raphael (b. 1931)
