Trinity Great Court

Great Court is the main court of Trinity College, Cambridge, and reputed to be the largest enclosed court in Europe.

The court was completed by Thomas Nevile, master of the college, in the early years of the 17th century, when he rearranged the existing buildings to form a single court.

Famous quotes containing the words trinity and/or court:

Nature is so perfect that the Trinity couldn’t have fashioned her any more perfect. She is an organ on which our Lord plays and the devil works the bellows.
    Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749–1832)

I know one husband and wife who, whatever the official reasons given to the court for the break up of their marriage, were really divorced because the husband believed that nobody ought to read while he was talking and the wife that nobody ought to talk while she was reading.
    Vera Brittain (1893–1970)
