The Lawnmower Man (film) - Home Media

Home Media

The theatrical version of the film was initially released on VHS and Laserdisc in 1992, with an unrated director's cut on LaserDisc shortly afterwards. It was the success of the unrated version that alerted King to New Line's defiance of the order that his name be stricken from the film's credits and all marketing for it.

The DVD, released in December 1997, contains only the theatrical cut, with scenes from the unrated edition, being presented on the DVD as merely deleted scenes.

The director's cut was released on DVD on October 25, 2010 in the United Kingdom.

Famous quotes containing the words home and/or media:

I will never again go to people under false pretenses even if it is to give them the Holy Bible. I will never again sell anything, even if I have to starve. I am going home now and I will sit down and really write about people.
    Henry Miller (1891–1980)

Few white citizens are acquainted with blacks other than those projected by the media and the so—called educational system, which is nothing more than a system of rewards and punishments based upon one’s ability to pledge loyalty oaths to Anglo culture. The media and the “educational system” are the prime sources of racism in the United States.
    Ishmael Reed (b. 1938)
