FRA Law
On 18 June 2008, The Swedish parliament passed a law called the FRA Law which allows for Swedish authorities to monitor all communications passing through the country's borders. Since most communications in Sweden pass through its borders at one point or another, this monitoring in practice affects most traffic within Sweden as well. This law became effective on 1 January 2009.

Famous quotes containing the word law:
“All men, in the abstract, are just and good; what hinders them, in the particular, is, the momentary predominance of the finite and individual over the general truth. The condition of our incarnation in a private self, seems to be, a perpetual tendency to prefer the private law, to obey the private impulse, to the exclusion of the law of the universal being.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
