Teerasil Dangda

Teerasil Dangda (Thai: ธีรศิลป์ แดงดา) is a Thai footballer, currently playing as a forward or a striker for Thai Premier League club Muangthong United and the Thailand national team.

Teerasil started his football career playing for Assumption College Thonburi School and then for his local club, City Club. Since then, he has represented Thai Premier League clubs Air Force United F.C., Raj Pracha Thailand F.C. and Muangthong United F.C. At Air Force United, he scored 3 goals in 2005. Next year, he moved to Raj Pracha and scored 9 goals, proving himself to be a key member of the team by showing excellent skills and maneuverability. In 2007, he moved to play for Muangthong United. It became apparent that his skills to play developed more and more in each season. In the same period, he was invited by Manchester City F.C. for a two weeks trial along with Suree Sukha and Kiatprawut Saiwaeo after the former Thailand Prime Minister, Thaksin Shiniwatra's takeover of the club in July 2007, prompting suggestions that the moves were made for political rather than footballing reasons. The trio signed contracts in November 2007, but did not come close to making the first team appearance, because of the lack of work permits due to Thailand's low world ranking. Consequently, Teerasil was sent on loan to Switzerland club Grasshopper Club Zürich. He scored 1 goal for Grasshopper in 6 games. After that he went to Thailand and played for Raj Pracha-Nonthaburi F.C. in loan status. Shortly after the start of the 2008–09 season, Thaksin's controlling stake in Manchester City was bought by the Abu Dhabi United Group. A fortnight later, in 2009 Teerasil was released from Manchester City and subsequently returned to Muangtohong United.

His style of play or role on the field could be described as a second striker or deep-lying forward, as he often comes deep down to help the team maintain possession.
