TDP Lamp - Treatment

Treatment

Treatment usually consists of bare skin exposure in the affected area with the lamp positioned 12-18 inches from the body. Length of self-treatment for a single condition is typically 15–30 minutes (not longer than 45 min.), 1 or 2 times a day, for 7–10 days. More weeks of treatment are acceptable under direction of a doctor. Many sample charts are available suggesting guidelines for use. The patient should feel warmth but position the lamp to avoid scalding. Skin temperatures should not be allowed to exceed 130 °F (54 °C).

Famous quotes containing the word treatment:

[17th-century] Puritans were the first modern parents. Like many of us, they looked on their treatment of children as a test of their own self-control. Their goal was not to simply to ensure the child’s duty to the family, but to help him or her make personal, individual commitments. They were the first authors to state that children must obey God rather than parents, in case of a clear conflict.
    C. John Sommerville (20th century)

I am glad you agree with me as to the treatment of the mining riots. We shall crush out the lawbreakers if the courts and juries do not fail.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

The motion picture made in Hollywood, if it is to create art at all, must do so within such strangling limitations of subject and treatment that it is a blind wonder it ever achieves any distinction beyond the purely mechanical slickness of a glass and chromium bathroom.
    Raymond Chandler (1888–1959)
