Geography
Taoyuan city is located on the Taoyuan Plateau, contiguous on the North East to Guishan Township. Nankan River is the major river to the Taoyuan city flowing from South East to North West direction. Due to the effect of wind from China, Taoyuan city can become cooler than New Taipei despite having a lower latitude.
