Talking Books

Talking Books was a Canadian radio program, which aired on CBC Radio One. Hosted by Ian Brown, the program was a discussion on books and literature. It was the only books show on CBC Radio that had critical discussions of books, as well as identifying trends, in writing. The program was cancelled in 2008, in order to find a place for The Next Chapter, hosted by Shelagh Rogers.

Famous quotes containing the words talking and/or books:

The reason child care is such a loaded issue is that when we talk about it, we are always tacitly talking about motherhood. And when we’re talking about motherhood we’re always tacitly assuming that child care must be a very dim second to full-time mother care.
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)

Be a little careful about your library. Do you foresee what you will do with it? Very little to be sure. But the real question is, What it will do with you? You will come here and get books that will open your eyes, and your ears, and your curiosity, and turn you inside out or outside in.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
