Talk Radio Network

Talk Radio Network (abbreviated TRN) is an American radio network providing talk radio and all-news radio programming. The talk network emphasizes conservative talk on weekdays and variety/general interest talk radio on weekends. It is headquartered in Central Point, Oregon. TRN is distributed by Dial Global Radio Networks.

Mark Masters is the president and CEO of Talk Radio Network and its subsidiaries. The company began offering its syndicated programs in 1993. Bear Stearns issued a report in 2007 which concluded that TRN was the second largest provider of top tier nationally syndicated radio talk shows in the U.S., making TRN (according to the Bear Stearns report) larger than ABC Radio Networks (ranked 3rd) and CBS controlled Westwood One (which is now ranked 4th) for national talk programming. Since that time, the network has been in decline; in fall 2012, both of its most widely distributed shows, The Savage Nation and The Laura Ingraham Show, left the network.

Famous quotes containing the words talk, radio and/or network:

I talk democracy to these men and women. I tell them that they have the vote, and that theirs is the kingdom and the power and the glory. I say to them “You are supreme: exercise your power.” They say, “That’s right: tell us what to do;” and I tell them. I say “Exercise your vote intelligently by voting for me.” And they do. That’s democracy; and a splendid thing it is too for putting the right men in the right place.
    George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950)

England has the most sordid literary scene I’ve ever seen. They all meet in the same pub. This guy’s writing a foreword for this person. They all have to give radio programs, they have to do all this just in order to scrape by. They’re all scratching each other’s backs.
    William Burroughs (b. 1914)

How have I been able to live so long outside Nature without identifying myself with it? Everything lives, moves, everything corresponds; the magnetic rays, emanating either from myself or from others, cross the limitless chain of created things unimpeded; it is a transparent network that covers the world, and its slender threads communicate themselves by degrees to the planets and stars. Captive now upon earth, I commune with the chorus of the stars who share in my joys and sorrows.
    Gérard De Nerval (1808–1855)
