Systematic and Evolutionary Biogeography Association

The Systematic and Evolutionary Biogeographical Association (SEBA) promotes an open and diverse international biogeographical community by assisting in sharing biogeographical information. Enhancing communication between biogeographers of all countries, SEBA contributes to the development of the theory and practice of Systematic and Evolutionary Biogeography (see Ebach & Morrone, 2005).

SEBA was established in 2006. It is a non-profit organization and a Scientific Member of the International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS).

SEBA also promotes the International Code of Area Nomenclature (ICAN), a standardized system of biogeographical reference.

Famous quotes containing the words systematic, evolutionary and/or association:

The process of discovery is very simple. An unwearied and systematic application of known laws to nature causes the unknown to reveal themselves.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.
Stanley Weiser, U.S. screenwriter, and Oliver Stone. Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas)

In this great association we know no North, no South, no East, no West. This has been our pride for all these years. We have no political party. We never have inquired what anybody’s religion is. All we ever have asked is simply, “Do you believe in perfect equality for women?” This is the one article in our creed.
    Susan B. Anthony (1820–1906)
