Drainage After Harvest or In Rainy Season

Drainage of flooded banks or drainage of extremely wet soil during the rainy season may be done by ditches. Famous quotes containing the words harvest, rainy and/or season:

    A harvest mouse goes scampering by,
    With silver claws and silver eye;
    And moveless fish in the water gleam,
    By silver reeds in a silver stream.
    Walter De La Mare (1873–1956)

    The dry eucalyptus seeks god in the rainy cloud.
    Professor Eucalyptus of New Haven seeks him
    In New Haven with an eye that does not look
    Beyond the object.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

    The landscape was clothed in a mild and quiet light, in which the woods and fences checkered and partitioned it with new regularity, and rough and uneven fields stretched away with lawn-like smoothness to the horizon, and the clouds, finely distinct and picturesque, seemed a fit drapery to hang over fairyland. The world seemed decked for some holiday or prouder pageantry ... like a green lane into a country maze, at the season when fruit-trees are in blossom.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
