The Golden Star
In Greece the institution of Golden Star for Sports Excellence in order to recognize sides that have won multiple championships by the display of gold stars on their badges, is unofficial. At this time only Olympiacos has adopted this practice by placing four Golden Stars above to its emblem (one star for each ten titles received in 1954, in 1975, in 2001 and in 2013 respectively). Other teams which have the same option are Panathinaikos (two Golden Stars received in 1970 and in 2010) and AEK (one Golden Star received in 1993).
