Super R-Type is a shooter game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, developed and published by Irem in 1991. It is a remake of R-Type II in a manner similar to the SNES version of Gradius III. The game has been re-released on the Wii Virtual Console in North America, Japan, and PAL regions in 2008.
