The fourth-generation Subaru Forester was launched in Japan since November 13, 2012 and it will be available only in 2.0L engine, in naturally aspirated and turbo guise. Naturally aspirated versions, FB20, will be mated with either a 6-speed manual or a Lineartronic CVT while the turbocharged version, known as the FA20 DIT, lifted from the Subaru Legacy, will be mated exclusively with a Lineartronic CVT.
The new Forester incorporates the new AWD control system "X-MODE", which was developed for the driving on uneven or slippery road condition. Engine, Transmission and VDC are controlled cooperatively.

Famous quotes containing the words fourth and/or generation:
“Newsmen believe that news is a tacitly acknowledged fourth branch of the federal system. This is why most news about government sounds as if it were federally mandatedserious, bulky and blandly worthwhile, like a high-fiber diet set in type.”
—P.J. (Patrick Jake)
“By this unprincipled facility of changing the state as often, and as much, and in as many ways as there are floating fancies or fashions, the whole chain and continuity of the commonwealth would be broken. No one generation could link with the other. Men would become little better than the flies of a summer.”
—Edmund Burke (17291797)
